Trent's Raingutter Race

Trenton just had his official Raingutter Regatta this week. He made a cool pirate boat that won the "Black Pearl" award. Here are a few pictures of Trent in captaining action and in the painting phase. We also included a picture of supportive Mitch. Trenton was awarded his Bear and a gold arrow. Go Trent!

Mitchell is ready for Summer

Mitchell has been in a speech class called Talking Time this year. On the last session day, they had a pirate party. Mitch was in heaven.

Mitch and Mom had a picnic at a new park by our house. It was one of the last days before Trent and Aubrey were out of school so we had to enjoy the moment!

Aubrey's Achievements

Aubrey has done really well in school this year. She was picked to speak to the school board abour her experiences in choir. It was a neat experience. She got a special award and shook all the school board member's hands. We were really proud of her.

Aubrey also did a great job in the choir concert. She had a special solo part and sang it perfect. Everyone was congratulating her and giving her high fives. It is nice that at least one of us can carry a tune.

Just when you thought we had forgotten....

I have been given much grief from various sources concerning my poor blogging habits. I did warn all of you about my laziness. Here are a couple of things we have done over the past few months.

Zion's

We went to St. George this past weekend with Bret and his family. We had a swell time. The kids really enjoyed Zion's and the hike to Emerald Falls.

Hogle Zoo

During spring break we went to the Hogle Zoo. Of course, it was freezing and rainy, but we had a good time. We made it on the last train ride of the day before it closed due to rain (Good thing because Mitch would have been really upset). Zack Shattuck went with us. They liked all of the animals, but the white alligator had to be the boys' favorite. They went to see the "Ghost of the Bayou" several times.

We are still alive

I have been a terrible blogger. I have good intentions, but can't seem to keep up on the blog. We have been well and we are keeping busy. We finally took the kids skiing again this year. Mike is finally able to ski (after his neuropathies from chemo). We went to Brighton and had a great time, and Trent is addicted. I think Aubs was a bit cold (it was a cold day). She thought it was ok, but isn't quite as thrilled about skiing as Trent. Mike was so proud to finally have his kids out skiing.
Here are some pictures, but it could be anybody's kids the way they are bundled up. We will have to post some spring skiing pics.

Trent's Birthday

Mitch as the enforcer. - "Hasta la vista, baby!"

Once again Mike talked me into letting Trent have a "friend party" for his birthday. Apparently, Mike feels it helps with self esteem (Maybe he also has some unresolved issues from childhood - who knows?). So, of course I opted for the party away from home and free of clean up. We went to "Jump on It." We missed the Gibson Doxey family party by a few days. However, Mike can't jump yet because of his hernia surgery. So, he took some pics for us.

Mike and Trent created this fabulous pirate cake. I did nothing to help (but clean up, of course). It was a hit with the friends.

Chillin' with his pals
This wore the boys out and I'm sure they slept well that nightLife is good!

I'm worse at blogging than scrapbooking

Stay tuned, but don't hold your breath ... I should have pictures of Trent's bday soon.

Well Halloween was over a month ago, but here are a few pictures just a little late. As you can see, Aubs was Minnie, Trent was Jack Sparrow, and Mitch was a Cowboy. Yes, we are Disney's target market and we have been sucked into it all.
